Take Action

When an issue that affects our LGBTQ+ loved ones comes to the forefront of our government’s agenda, PFLAG Springfield/SWMO takes action. Whether we support pro-equality legislation or fight against harmful bills that hurt our families, PFLAG Springfield/SWMO is here to support our community.

At the state level, we follow the lead of our friends at PROMO, the statewide LGBTQ+ advocacy organization. Our staff, board of directors, and members regularly visit Jefferson City during the legislative session to speak testify, hold our elected officials accountable, and make our voices heard. We also support canvassing efforts in our community.

Locally and regionally, we pay attention to issues affecting our community. We also recognize that the LGBTQ+ community is affected by a variety of issues that are not exclusive to us -- so we have close partnerships with organizations that work to protect racial equity, worker's rights, reproductive rights, democracy, and more.
